Ikat textiles are among the most highly prized fabrics in the world. The word "ikat" means " to tie. This is a very ancient way of creating designs in fabric by applying dye to the thread before the final fabric pattern or design.

I am fond of Ikats from India, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia. Ikat textiles come in cotton and silk. I have used ikat for walls, window treatments, pillows and lamshades, bedding and table clothes, bathrobe and boxers, upholstering a chair or wall hanging.
LOOK!
I just came across Bermingham Ikat at Brunschwig & Fils' showroom at D&D New York.
