This is one of the finest gardens in the world. It is truly an English landscape style of garden, incorporating with unexpected vistas around a lake, replete with temples to Apollo and Flora, a rock bridge, a cascade, a pantheon, a thatched cottage, and a grotto; a brilliant Arcadian design begun by Henry Hoare in 1741, and the garden did not complete until 1780.
