Stonehenge England

Those few summers when I traveled to Okehampton, Devon, frequently Andrew would use the motorway that drove by this ancient burial ground. I am always fascinating by it. One day, we decided to stop by and took a stroll. I felt very peaceful and surreal.

A STONEHENGE poem
by Nickolaus A. Pacione

Places were the dead meet the living,
Druid priest practice rituals of the deceased
when their own meet the end,
shadows of the living dance
upon the wall with the ghosts
within the place of a stone circle
and the dead bury their own
burning the bodies
a spirit sent to the heavens
asking for deliverance
a deliverance that was never given or done
in the circle of stones

  1. Does Nicky know you've reposted his poem? He gets really funny about things like that.
