How to get this look: BEFORE & AFTER

This is a project in Upper West Side 72 street closes to Central Park, Manhattan.

The client is a successful media consultant, well-traveled, sophisticated, art collector, and fond of art-deco/mid century furniture.

The challenge of interior design in an old building in Manhattan is how to create more storage spaces; closets, bath room and kitchen often are not very big. Sometime I wish I could be a magician liked David Copperfield, I would 'create' more footage in every project I work at in Manhattan.

After a couple of months of working on the space and furniture, we started the renovation.
Below showing the Before-and-After living area.

Traditional Ways to a Man's Heart - Sweet Potato Pie

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

~ Sweet Potato Pie ~

I love Sweet Potato Pie.
And everyone who tastes it says it is awesome!
I just baked these pies to bring to my friend's Thanksgiving Dinner.
The whole apartment smells like a home and so festive!

It is good to serve in room temperature or warm,
with ice cream or some marshmallow or whip cream.

1 1/2 cup of mashed sweet potato
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp of honey

2 eggs

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp flour
1/2 cup of evaporated milk
1/2 tsp of salt

1 Pillsbury pie crust ( prepared as per instructions given)
Mix sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger and flour in small bowl. Beat eggs in large bowl. Stir in mashed sweet potato and sugar-spice mixture. Gradually stir in evaporated milk and honey.

Pour the mixtures into pie shell.

Placed the sliced sweet potato in any patterns you like. Stick a few cloves on the top and bake in preheated oven 425F for 20 mins. Reduce temperature to 350F, bake 40-50 mins or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.

Voila!

Thanksgiving Dinner Table Setting

~ Living and Enjoying a Beautiful Life ~

Turkey Day!
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite American holidays.
It is a very American holiday.
It does not matter where you come from,

as long as you are landed on this land,
all 'Americans" come together with
family or friends to celebrate.
This is a holiday of giving and not getting.

I am always excited when the table is set beautifully
with sparkling crystal and
twinkling candlelight.

Above table setting was a collaboration between Reno and Christopher.

Dusk at Central Park ...

The beauty of Central Park ...
in this concrete jungle.

Falling in love with her all over again
her poise, her mysteriousness ... her seduction.
Oh, nothing could stop me
I dive and drown in her beauty.

Is diamond your new Best Friend?

Wow!

I came across this toilet on line.
How do you like it for US$75,000?
I wonder if the maid should wear white gloves
to clean the toilet?

What toilet tissue would be compatible
with this sparkling toilet?

How about this diamond ball for your Christmas tree?
It only costs US$135,000.00 each.

How about this skull for your next Halloween?
It costs only US$1 million.

A Morning at Southey Farm, Devon, England

A Quiet Country Morning ...

First love is a little foolish and a lot of curiosity.
~ George Bernard Shaw ~

First love is always so fresh and memorable.
Southey Farm is the first English farm I have ever visited;
indeed I spent a few summers there in the 2000s.
It was just like the first love.

.....
I still remember the feeling of country mud
sticking all over my boots,

the smell of Devon country earth, the smell of apple & plum trees
in the orchard,

the worms in the herb garden, the frogs underneath the stones,
the sound of the old tractor, and the loft and especially the kitchen ...

those memories are just like kaleidoscope,
all fragments coming together

forming one pattern to the next swiftly - very colorful.

Several mornings, I was up early as usual,
taking a walk across the meadow with my camera ...

misty and frost on the ground ...
a bright morning ...

a peaceful morning before workers arrived ...Richard's farm dogMr B's logs

Charming Boy Henry racing across the meadow ...
Landlord Mr Green ... and his logs.

More on Southey Farm
coming soon
