New York City
Nearly 44,000 runners from almost 100 countries
participated in the 40th New York City Marathon.
The first runner finished the marathon just before 12 noon.
At 4.30 PM, all the spectators were gone;
the streets were quiet … here came a man with his entourage,
bouncing along First Avenue and 86th street in his walking aids.
Many pedestrians and people came out from the bars
to give him a big applause.
It was very inspiring and touching.
