LIFE: Eagle

The eagle has the longest life-span of its' species.
It can live up to 70 years. But to reach this age,
the eagle must make a hard decision.

In its' 40s, it's long and flexible talons can no longer grab prey which serves as food. Its' long and sharp beak becomes bent.

It's old-aged and heavy wings, due to their thick feathers, becomes stuck to its' chest and make it difficult to fly.

Then, the eagle is left with 2 options:
Die or go through a painful process of change which last 150 days. The process requires that the eagle fly to a mountain top and sit on its' nest. There the eagle knocks its' beaks against a rock until it plucks it out.

After plucking it out, the eagle will wait for a new beak to grow and then it will pluck out its' talons.

When its' new talons grows back, the eagle starts plucking its' old-aged feathers. And after 5 months, the eagle takes its famous flights of rebirth and lives for 30 more years.
WHY is change needed?

Many times, in order to survive, we have to start a change process. We sometimes need to let go of old memories, habits and other past traditions. Only freed from past burdens, can we take advantage of the present.

The bathroom plays an important role in this English country loft's renovation. It is completed with gray tiling, brushed steel, a Jacuzzi and power shower. TRAVEL: Cameron Highlands/ Jim Thompson

Cameron Highlands located in Pahang, Malaysia.

The heat was unbearable last April when I was in Malaysia, my brother took me to the highlands to escape the brutal heat in the city! It is 5,000 ft (1,500 m) above sea level, thus enjoys a cool climate, with temperatures no higher than 25 °C and rarely falls below 12°C year-round.
The Highlands were named after a British colonial governor, William Cameron, who discovered the plateau during a mapping expedition in 1885. The fame of Cameron Highlands then grew during the colonial era when British planters realized the potential of its fertile mountain slopes for growing tea.
It was at Cameron Highlands that, Jim Thompson, the Thai silk king, a former US military intelligence officer, mysteriously disappeared while going for a walk on Easter Sunday, March 26, 1967. Many hypotheses have been put forward to explain his disappearance, but what actually happened to him remains a mystery.

ART oF LIVING: Afternoon Tea

I love afternoon tea.
The few summers that I spent at Southey Farm, Devon, every afternoon 4 pm, rained or shone everyone stopped doing whatever he/she was doing, as though the world came to a halt, for a cuppa. I had Fortnum & Mason in London shipped goodies stuffs to the farm, and I baked cakes and biscuits.
Sitting at the verandah, sipping a cup of cream sweet tea and a slice of cake, the garden was full bloom, gazing the sheep at the meadows, the tree dancing in the afternoon breezes, a few light conversations ... life seem to be so peaceful and beautiful.

Tea ... is a religion of the art of life. ~ Okakura ~

There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.

~ Henry James 1843 - 1916 ~

ELEMENTS oF STYLE: Windows and Doors

Every window and door tells a little story.
I wonder if that is the reason I often find myself taking pictures of windows and doors when I travel in Europe.
Here are some of the photos I took when I was in Spain, England and France. These are my favorite countries.

Tip: A vase of flowers or flower window box can dress up a window beautifully.
