Everything has its own story and its own strength ...
I am drawn to this project designed by Michael Smith in Malibu on the Southern California coast opens directly onto the Pacific Ocean. This project is featured in Oct Elle Decor.
The master bedroom, the German-silver four-poster and topped with a delicate embroidered canopy, Japanese lacquered bedside chests, the Chinese Lamps, and the gold mirrors on each side of the bed and the beautiful carved bench .... so many textures and the colors are so calming, a perfect bedroom!

In the dinning room, the 19th-century brass chandeliers and the linen-closet ( from the estate of Bill Blass) and that long oak dinning table making such great statement! I love candle chandelier, but I am just concerned the wax may drip everywhere when the ocean breezes sweep into the house.
"Everything has its own story and its own strength, but when you put them all together, the effect is quite soft," Smith explains. "The place has a lot of very rare objects in it, but it also has a looseness. People feel really comfortable here. The sweep if the land is extraordinary, but the house itself manages to retain a human scale and sensibility." ~ Michael Smith ~
This is a guest room and there are books here, and there are good reading lights. Love that ceiling and the antique lanterns making a statement, and Tabriz rug under foot. The soft blue palette, bring the ocean into the bedroom! I'd love to sleep in this room!
