West Village Ancient Brick Wall

As I was walking in West Village,
again I came across some of these old brick walls
and I was inspired.

This is an interesting brick wall
every few spaces it has an irregular shape of brick
which make this wall has a different visual effect.

This old brick wall has a lot of texture -
uneven sizes and colors of brick
have given much characters and interesting
visual appeal;
huge planter brings out the beauty
of the wall.

This industrial looking building has converted into
a retail store, window box with summer flowers
has compliment the brick wall.

Element of Style: French Louis XVI Fruitwood Desk

I love this antique French Louis XVI fruitwood desk.
There are 4 drawers, beautiful fluted legs, and a great "H" form cross stretcher.
It is very nice fully restored with a rich and warm patina. France circa 1880.

It is very simple, well made and steady. Not only it is functional but it also offers a lots of visual appear. This desk works in almost any rooms. In the city apartment, or at a beach house in Hampton or a country house in Upstate New York.

Summer Solstice

First day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere,
which means it's the longest day of the year in 2011.

"It is a time of fertility and celebration: bonfires, maypoles, dancing, and outdoor festivals have been traditional during this time for most of human history. In some modern Pagan faiths it is believed that this holiday represents the highest ascendancy of masculine divinity."

of a non-visible architecture into something visible!

Element of Style: Stone Benches

Antique stone bench
always give character to a garden.
Design of the garden can be
classic or modern design,
with the right piece of stone bench
can make quite a statement.

This little stone bench I saw at
Brooklyn Botanical Garden has added
an extra charm to this garden.

I equally loved this "more majestic" stone bench
I came across at @ Knightshayes Court
at Tiverton, England.

This is a formal garden, I remembered when I sat on it,
looking at the beautiful garden and surroundings,
I felt like I was at the Edwardian or Victorian era!

Some of these benches below are simple,
not only it allows to rest your feet,
it also gives character to your garden;
whether it is traditional or modern garden.

I love seeing this antique stone bench in a modern garden.

Interior /Exterior inspired from Mushroom

Mushroom must have been a great source
of inspiration for architects and designers.

The shape of below architecture,
both exterior and exterior reminds
me of mushroom.

Below restaurant in Australian
Architect: Koichi Takada.

Genexis Theater, Fusionopolis in Singapore,
designed by ARUP and WOHA architects.

Architecture Tang Palace 2, Hangzhou

The Arbor of Seville

The textured wall of this restaurant is spectacular
it creates textures and movement
it reminds me of the porcelain mushroom
